[SOLVED] Specify a thickness for plain stress elements C_PLAN

Hi there,

Usually plain strain elements have a unit thickness but you can specify the thickness for plain stress elements. So my question, is it possible to specify the thickness when using C_PLAN elements in Code_Aster? I can not seem to find a way of doing so.

No, there is no thickness neither for plane strain, nor for plane stress elements. And there is no need for that. There is alway thickness=1 assumed and You can scale Your results from this if You like.

Dear kvaswegen!

The answer of ACKWA solv only simple problems of unit thicknesses.

If You don't have this situations, but You have linear cases you could do following:

.......* Multiply the E-Modulus by tv/ti (tv is a Constant-Thickness to get a simple relation)

.......* You have to look to the loads to correct them!

.......* with CREA_CHAMP you could create and multiple the stresses to get the correct

answer for your needed stresses (Faktor ti/tv).

For some non-linear algorithm You could also do so by correction of the criteria in relation to the thicknesses!
