Salome-Meca for commercial solutions

HI!m

I've started work with Salome-meca a couple days ago, and Im really impressed. But I'm wondering what does the situation looks like if I wont to use it for commercial purpose? (strength analysis in my company )

Do I need a special license or permission? I'm thinking only of commercial using this software not changing the source code?

Hi,

Salome-Meca is distributed under the LGPL license. You don't need anything else to use (even modify and redistribute the software without changing the license). You are encouraged to mention the software (Code_Aster & Salome-Meca) and its website in any publications to make them well known !

As a professional user you are specially welcome to report any feedback about your calculations/applications.

First of all, thanks for the nice welcome and I would like to say Hi ;)

I work for company with is producer of pressure equipment. A work a lot with Ansys and Patran/Nastran for strength analysis, modal analysis, sometimes thermal, and rather non linear.

Now I'm thinking of comparison of results analysis making in Code-aster to commercial soft like ansys.

But now I'M learning this software :)

So I will share with You about my results ;)
