Salome-Meca installation and test

Hello, I wonder if someone can help me to solve this installation and test problem. I downloaded the last version 2012.2 and strictly followed the installation suggestions. The first time I installed the programme I succeded in running a simple test problem (cube cut with a cylindric tool).Following this simple test I was unable to replicate it and to pass other problems. I enclose a log file of the last test made. It seems that something is wrong in the path files, but I cannot understand what is happening since the library files cited in the warnings are present in the right directories.

The test case does not go to the end. Could it possibly be because I named two opposite faces of the cube with a two words name ?

Hi and welcome to the forums,

The warnings regarding the paths in Salome can be safely ignored.

It might indeed but usually this should not prevent to launch the computation. As a future note though be advised that group names in Aster should not contain more than 8 characters.

When exactly does the problem arise ? When running the case ?

thank you for your help. I am back after updating my old UBUNTU version, to the 12.1 and reloading SALOME-MECA. I passed again the original problem, a cube carved by a cylinder. No probs for geometry and meshing everything ran perfectly, but still the solution phase does not go to the end. I am enclosing a transcript of the terminal messages.

Given my total inexperience I can notice that:

Hi,

You should use the latest version (2012.2) instead of the one year-old 2012.1

Then regarding your problem, it's hard to tell what's wrong without more details. When you're running the Aster case, does a terminal window appear ? If nothing happens, it may has to do with the X configuration of your distribution. In this case, try editing the Aster case and uncheck the "interactive follow up" checkbox. Then launch again and tell us what happens.

Hello !

According to your suggestions i downloaded the latest version of Salome-Meca, then I found the directory "flasheur" containing the transcripts of the various tests. There I discovered with some surprise that the name "pressione", given to one of the cube faces was 9 characters long and not 8. That was the end of it all. It runs fine !!! Now I will pass to some more engaging task.
