Units used in Salome-Meca? metres or millimetres?

Hi,

So I have a CAD file I have exported from another program as an IGES file, the models measurements are in mm.

Using the geometry module of Salome-Meca I import the IGES file and get the following message:

"Take into account (millimetre) embedded to the file?

Ignoring units will cause model scaling (as dimensions are supposed to be specified in meters)."

So I click "Yes" on this message.

Does this mean for all other values I need to use the metres form or the millimetres?

For example when in the AsterStudy module should I specify my youngs modulus in N/m^2 or N/mm^2?

better to convert to mm, before importing to salome-meca.

what do you mean by not acceptable!!!!

i have been using this for well over 30 years on many finite element codes including code_aster
