Hi ,
I am trying to simulate stresses in a rotating impeller , I have modelled it as a 2D problem as the impeller is made of sheet metal parts.
I am only modelling a segment of the the impeller .
The symmetry surface was flat see picture on the right highlighted in yellow is the master edge , so I had aligned master surface with global X axis and then used liaison group and liaison oblique to complete the cyclic boundary condition for the other edge . In brief intent is to fixing the displacements that are normal to any points on the symmetry edges as this is mandatory for cyclic sym condition.
My new model (on the left ) doesn’t have planar sum egdes .it has curved edges as you can see in picture below on left highlighted in yellow is the master edge , now the old method as above wont work , it is not correct because e.g my master edge is curved and normal to each point on this curve is varying and is not Constant as in case of plane edge.
Is there any function in code aster that I can use to constraint the normal of each node of the master edge ? I thought Dnor might work but I think it needs a face doesn’t work with an edge? All I need is a function that would let normal to the edge of the element to have zero constraint . Hope you understand the problem?
Or
Will liaison oblique with angle naut = 0 work? for the master node? I doubt but not sure ? Attached is the boundary condition txt. Note : We cant use liaison Cyclic as we are dealing with Coque 3D model here.
Your suggestion would be greatly appreciated .
