Which FORMULATION are you using for HHO ? and which version of code_aster ?
HHO is very different of classical 3D element. There is more DOFs for a same mesh. This is known but in practice you use a coarse mesh since converge is better.
The only way to decrease memory consumption is to tune the linear solver. Try PETSC with LDLT_SP or PETSC with HPDDM if you are in HPC. We are working on a new solver adapted for HHO but not before version 18.1
