Hi. I am struggling to understand the use of the non-linear contact analysis.
I am starting with a case involving a sphere and a plane.
The plane face is master and the spheric face is slave.
I use a quarter model and constrain. movement perpendicular to the symmetry planes.
What I see that indicates a basic error of some kind is that the displaced view clearly shows overlapping between the two volumes. The only nodal point where the two volumes seem to interact is the single node where the unloaded volumes initially touch.
I suspect that maybe I just can not correctly represent a nonlinear result by applying a linear displacement amplification as I have done here. If that is the case - is there another and better way to visualize the results ?
I did a similar test case with freecad/calculix where the displacements could be visualized without the overlap.
Any hint to what I am missing or doing wrong will be met with gratitude.
