I'd say: be very careful with any auto stabilisation methods... in any FEA solver.
My experience is that it generates more questions than it answers, and I always dropped it in favour of springs-to-ground, and other non-linear tricks.
The auto methods place like an artificial viscos restraint, and unless you check all your energy balances, sum of reactions, etc; it nearly always ends up taking away some load. If the implementation makes sure that this artificial restraint is 100% lifted at the end of the loading step used in, then OK, but still check. Following steps should have no auto-methods in place for all loads to travel thru nicely.
